There are lots of spam sites that are in operation that guarantee you "tons of twitter followers" within few hours or days. Actually, these are spam websites that pull your twitter id and password and use them to tweet your followers with their links, or simply spam your twitter account and annoy your followers.

Please do not share your twitter credentials, the user id or password with those sites.
Once accidentally shared and i was forced to change my password.

There are lots of scripts, cheap, available that runs into websites and spam using their users' credentials.

Be wary in sharing your twitter credentials.
